LRB arms is having a sale on their AR stripped lower for $56 but it must be through FFL holder and 30 orders minimum. I would be interested in at least two, if someone can get this going.

I just Googled it- seems like the quality is about the same or better than Double star lower. I missed out on the PSA AR stripped lower for about the same price, and just saw this ad on their web.

All three of my M14 receivers (two built, one not yet) and all 6 of my AR lowers (five built, one not yet) are from LRB. They make an excellent product in both lines. I have had zero problems with assembly, and the tolerances, fit & finish are excellent.

That is a great price - they're also running a sale on uppers - I'd be in for one of each upper and lower if we had enough interest to do both.

All four of these ARs are built on LRB lowers.

For that price I might be interested in two of them.

This doesn't belong in the South Florida forum.

I had heard PSA will do them around that price for that quantity.

Shouldn't this be in the group buy section?

So a couple questions:
1. Why not go with a Fl based "manufacturer", or at least not one from NY?

2. Why are these so great? Are they better than PSA, Spikes, etc?

3. OP do you have a contact, or are you hoping someone puts this together?

Math:
15 "ins" = $62
shipping = $6
fed 11% tax $7
Paypal/mo = $2
FL transfer = $30

Close to $110 by the time you are done right?

Math is kind of wrong.

There is no fed excise tax on lowers, only assembled firearms.

Pay by credit card-no fees,

FFL-$15 and up.

Math:
15 "ins" = $62
shipping = $6
Paypal/mo/cc = $2
FL transfer = $30

Close to $100 by the time you are done right?

I guess the FFL who orders these is going to eat the 3% credit card fee then?

Who knows if we can have these shipped to more than one FFL from LRB? Will those who don't want to drive to "Central Location" from "Other Side of Florida" have to pay another $6 in shipping, or drive 7 hours round trip?

Let's just say the transfer is $20 to 25 + the $5 Fl fee. This is the case with every FFL around me.

What makes these better or worth it? (flat stock botique lower. no engraving or awesome brand name.)

P.S. I will not be running this. Just pointing out all of the details that are involved.

FYI, FFL transfers in my area can be had for $15 total, regardless of the number of serial numbers involved.

I agree on your point, that a dealer who would be willing to sponser a group buy would be entitled to profit or if very generous, a lot of publicity for doing so.

Actually, the company selling takes the hit on the credit card fee. But in the long run, you are correct. Having a group buy on FFL items isn't feasible unless everyone is in the same area for exactly the reason you posted, the travel to pick up the items.
