But he put the issue in play and that in the long run will be a good thing

The Democratic Presidential candidate typically gets around 90% of the black vote regardless, and has done so since 1964--for example, Al Gore got 92%, John Kerry 88%. I think Obama got 95%, which tied him with LBJ in 1964.

So, the short answer is, this stuff doesn't matter very much in the real world--those race-based votes are pretty much going Democratic anyway.

It might have made a big difference in the primary. Of course the alternative would have been Hillary who I believe would have been much worse.

It already is... that's where he got it.

So back to the black vote thing... If I said I voted for Obama because he's white... would that make me a racist? Because he's just as much white as he is black... unless my math is all wrong.

(ps... I didn't actually vote for him. And my way of showing I'm not a racist was to have sex with lots of black womens =:e

Last election, I knew a bunch of people who voted the other way around for the same reasons.

Actors make movies. That's it. If they want, like anybody else, they can go into politics and do that--and if they show some proclivity, fine, now they are politicians. But otherwise, why do I care what they think any more than you or me?
